Progression Blog - 9th March 2018

Throughout this week I was not able to get much done throughout the report to what I wanted to schedule. This was down to getting an ear infection which put me off track with my work, even though I did not meet my full potential. However, I've started to create my Riverbed Modular simulations. These logical diagrams will show the architecutre of the network. So far, I have only started some of the basic backbone of the network such as: Application Profiles Database HTTP FTP Video Streamer  Browsing  Within each section, I have shown what each application will do inrelation of: Speed per packet The grouping The type of data recieved  How the network should take it eg Best Effort/Standard During the configuration I've been able to screenshot all of the applications above giving justification of why  I have given these configurations. Next week: I will be going back to my design section creating my IP addressing and addressing the type of ...

Analysis stage progression

At this moment of time I'm keeping an steady progress with my report. I'm currently working through my analysis section of: Risk Assessment. For this I will be creating tables in relation to hardware and software, categorizing the risk it can bring to the company and what the potensial solutions for this can be.  - Personally I feel like I may come back to this in case more information comes to mind for this section. Knowing that inserting multiple solutions is effective as it allows more thought and considerations into a potential risk. Shown above is one of the templates that I will be using to reference the type of impact it can bring to the company. This template will allow me to analyze: Hardware Software Other I will be updating my blog once this is complete with little sections to add throughout analysis before I start my design stage

Library Documentation

Due to my project being based on the library facilities, I went down to Crown Street library to recieve more information about the library. Some Basic information is available on the council website When I went to the library, I spoke to Katherine Williamson to find out more information of the buildings architecture. In this I was shown archives of the building structure of both libraries in Cockerton & Darlington During this I obtained photos of the opening hours of the library so I knew the type of operational hours to be implemented into my report. I bought a copy of each building to be shown into my report. During this process I had to sign a Copying of Copyright Material. Once this process was done. I looked around the library facilities understand the type of computers they are using to give me a rough assumption of how it's functioned  From this I was able to find out > Majority of the Computers were running XP/Windows 7 ...

Final Year Project - Introduction

Image
Welcome to my final year project blog! In this blog I will be showing: Timescale of progression Log of the research found Establishing how the project timescale is working in real time The day I will be updating my blog will be every Friday in which I will be showing: Some of the foundings inrelation to that section of the report How the current progression is going for that part How I am meeting to the objective timeline and what alterations I have had to make. What is the project about? This project is going to be showing how the networking architecture possibilities that can be implemented into Darlington Borough Councils Library facilities and how they will run during operational hours. I will be splitting this project into sections such as: Analysis Design Implementation Testing Allowing this will make sure I meet all of the requirements of this project. Whilst creating this report, I will be implementing an Service Level Agreem...
